A Classroom Where Every Tool Has a Purpose

Step into a Keelham classroom, and you’ll see technology working in harmony to create a dynamic and engaging learning space. The SMART Board MX Series, mounted on a height-adjustable stand, is the centrepiece. Teachers use it to bring lessons to life, seamlessly switching between presenting, annotating, and interacting with pupils’ ideas in real time.

A wireless visualiser sits nearby, ready to share pupils’ work instantly on the display. A teacher might use it to model a maths solution, while a pupil could use it to explain their thinking to the class. This ability to capture and share learning moments in real time helps pupils develop confidence while promoting collaborative learning.

But learning doesn’t stop at the front of the room. Every pupil has an iPad, connected to the SMART Board via Lumio. Instead of passively watching, pupils interact with lesson content directly on their own devices. Whether they’re solving problems, responding to quizzes, or working in teams, their input feeds back into the lesson, making learning a truly two-way process.

Meanwhile, teachers have the flexibility to move freely, using their Surface Pro laptop to control lessons from anywhere in the room. A teacher might sit with a small group for focused support, while still managing the content displayed on the board. Ensuring every pupil remains engaged, no matter where they are.

Beyond the Classroom: Interactive Learning in Every Space

Keelham has ensured that interactive learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. In the intervention room, a SMART Board 6000S supports small-group and one-to-one sessions, helping pupils who need additional support to engage with learning in a focused environment.

In EYFS, an interactive table transforms early learning into a hands-on, game-based experience. Pupils explore numbers, letters, and problem-solving tasks in a playful, collaborative way, with content mapped directly to the Early Years curriculum.

Meanwhile, the school’s library space takes a minimalist approach. A visualiser and a display screen are all that’s needed to bring stories to life. As teachers read aloud, the text and illustrations are enlarged for the entire class to see, making storytime more immersive and engaging.

A Smarter School: Infrastructure That Supports Learning

At the school entrance, a digital signage system keeps staff, pupils, and visitors informed, displaying key updates, news, and announcements. The InVentry sign-in system, integrated with Paxton door entry, ensures that access to the school is secure and controlled and that staff, visitors, and contractors are all accounted for with a simple tap-in system.

By designing an ecosystem where technology works together, Keelham has created a modern, adaptable learning environment where every tool serves a purpose, every pupil stays engaged, and every teacher is supported.
